University of Tsukuba Malaysia Campus has replaced paper-based and Excel-driven administrative processes with a set of custom applications built on desknet's NEO Cloud Edition and its no-code AppSuite platform.
Before the change, approval processes stalled whenever decision-makers were travelling internationally, and information had to be re-entered by hand across Microsoft Forms, Excel, and separate applications — creating transcription errors and repeated Excel file crashes that consumed staff time better spent elsewhere. With no dedicated IT department, the university built its solution in-house: a Business Travel Request application spanning the full cycle from request to reimbursement, a Purchase Request and Payment Management application covering the entire procurement cycle, a centralised CRM for stakeholder relationships, and an HR Management application with visual calendars showing staff work locations at a glance.
Approvals can now be processed online from anywhere, granular permission controls protect form structures from accidental changes, and the university estimates the implementation cost roughly half of competing groupware solutions.
